Bummin

So Lonnie got Buddy a job and now Buddy hangs out with attractive women. I asked Lonnie if I could get a gig and he told Ellen that to get my number and stuff. Maybe I could get a job there.

JR(this dopey kid that I know) tells me that he's working at CharCo... Because all of the old guys are falling out from the heat... He makes $13.50/hr and doesn't have to drive 3 hours every day. I'm walking to CharCo Monday morning and getting a gig. Failing that, I'm going to go see Cal Thompson and see if he'll teach me how to weld.

If I'm ever to afford a wife and child, I need to make a living that affords me a ratty trailer that I get a discount on.

Immortality...

I suppose that I would care to live in this flesh forever, but I don't see it in the cards.

If I were able to live forever, it would be a matter of time before I had visited every square inch of this planet and tasted all of the cuisines that were ever concocted and seen all of the plays and dances that the mortals could have ever invented... Then things would become very dull.

I used to wish for a boring existence, when I was sure that I'd had enough excitement to last me three lifetimes, but now that I have had it... I wish that excitement would return to me.
I have become tired by guessing the outcome of every moment and knowing the end of the story by the third page.

I am learning that life takes on certain patterns because that is how life is meant to be. We can resist the natural order of things and opt for a tiresome existence of being a constant outsider to everything that makes us part of the species, or we can do like everybody else and eat the bitter fruit so that the taste of the sweet is multiplied by our lack of it.

I suspect that I have shut myself off from the fullness that my life could be for too long so that I could avoid making errors that others would view as foolishness. Trying to not be a fool is like trying not to breath... You can hold your breath for so long, and the you are forced to take a bigger gulp of air.

Saturday night

As far as I know... Tanika was in the parking lot and some girl and her friend jumped on her. I got there moments later and gave Tanika her shoes and ear ring back. I know she is dangerous, but I can't help thinking she is really attractive. I watched other girls that I know, use guys for drinks and then ditch them in the parking lot.

I think that Tanika agreed to go to a movie with me. Heather is a really nice girl for introducing me to Tanika. Tanika definitely said that we were going to her meeting on Tuesday... I'm kinda excited about having a "sober date" with her.

Watching Tanika get "scrappy" turned me on a bit.

Revelations

A friend of mine commented on my sister becoming a little porky... And he is right. She is porky for a reason though... she's pregnant.
She told me last night that she feels really good about being pregnant. She tells me that she has never felt this way about a man. She really loves this guy. I'm looking forward to having a niece or a nephew.
This kind of coincides with my goal of starting a family. I think that it would be quaint to have a child of my own and have it grow up and have a cousin it's own age.
My sister is going to come and visit for my birthday on the 2nd, I hope that people will see me in a different light when she comes. Maybe I'll take on a new persona as approachable and human.
